[Taklimakan Blog] Ethereum Whale Population Is Growing Rapidly
In the Ethereum network, the number of wallets with a balance of more than 10 thousand coins has grown dramatically. Experts attribute this to ETH price records
The Ethereum cryptocurrency whale population is growing rapidly. According to Coin Metrics, since the beginning of 2021, the number of ETH whales has increased from 1150 to more than 1250. The sample included wallets with volumes of more than 10 thousand ETH, Coin Metrics reported.
The number of bitcoin whales has also renewed highs. At the time of this writing, the number of wallets with a balance of more than 10 thousand coins approached the 2500 mark.
Ethereum is gaining momentum
The growth of activity in the Ethereum blockchain network occurs against the background of overcoming new price highs. Since December 2020, the cryptocurrency is in a phase of active growth.
Now the maximum for the ETH / USDT pair is fixed at $1827, however, this does not mean that the cryptocurrency will no longer have a chance to grow this year. As a reminder, on February 8, ETH futures were launched on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME). Thus, institutions have direct access to ETH.
